Draymond Green finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists as No. 7 Michigan State pounded visiting Iowa 95-61 Tuesday.

Keith Appling added 15 points and nine assists for the Spartans (15-2, 4-0 Big Ten), who secured their 15th straight victory by achieving their largest margin of victory in this 118-game series.

With four steals, Green passed former Michigan State great Ken Redfield into sole possession of seventh place on the school’s all-time list with 153.

Michigan State wasted little time in taking a stranglehold of this game, scoring nine of the first 11 points before the first timeout and establishing a double-digit lead at the 14:34 mark that it would keep for all but 18 seconds thereafter.

The Spartans took a 44-24 advantage into the break and led by as many as 45 in the second half with much of that domination coming off their ability to score 33 points off the Hawkeyes’ 21 turnovers.

For Iowa (10-8, 2-3), this game marked its second straight disappointing blowout loss after a pair of impressive conference wins at Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Hawkeyes were also thoroughly outplayed in Saturday’s 76-47 home loss to No. 5 Ohio State.

Aaron White had 15 points for the Hawkeyes, who have dropped 17 straight road games against top 25 opponents and not won in East Lansing since Jan. 28, 1993.
