Austin Dufault scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half as Colorado (11-4, 3-0 Pac-12) remained the only undefeated team in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes have outscored their conference opponents by 20.6 points per game.

Washington State’s Brock Motum, the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week who matched a career high with 27 points against Utah on Thursday, scored nine before fouling out with 58 seconds left.

Reggie Moore had 14 points for the Cougars (9-7, 1-3 Pac-12), who have lost three of their last four games.

Brown’s burst helped Colorado to a 45-27 lead and the Buffaloes tacked on a 7-0 run soon after to go ahead 52-31 with 12:42 to go.

Washington State closed to within eight 65-57 with 2:42 remaining, but Colorado made 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to hold on.

Colorado’s Andre Roberson, the nation’s fourth-leading rebounder at 12.0 per game entering Saturday, sat for the last 9:54 of the first half after picking up his second foul. The 6-foot-7 sophomore guard finished with eight, including six in the second half.

The Buffaloes promptly went on an 11-0 run after Roberson’s departure, including eight points by Dufault, who was 5-for-5 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line in the first half.

Brown added 10 points as Colorado enjoyed a 32-24 halftime lead.
