No. 4 North Carolina took advantage of its frontcourt size to dominate the paint and cruise to an 83-60 home victory over Boston College in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams Saturday.

Harrison Barnes and Tyler Zeller combined for 45 points, and John Henson added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Tar Heels (14-2, 1-0 ACC), who have won a building-record 26 consecutive games at the Dean E. Smith Center. They have won 27 straight home games overall.

North Carolina has won eight straight -- all at home -- since a loss to then-No. 1 Kentucky. The Tar Heels have scored 80 or more points in all eight games, their longest such streak since 2008-09.

The Eagles (5-10, 0-1 ACC) hung in early, but North Carolina gave itself some cushion with a 13-0 run to make it 27-14 with seven minutes left in the half.

The Tar Heels maintained that cushion with a 40-27 halftime lead and never really let Boston College back in it. The Eagles got within nine in the second half, but no closer.

North Carolina's Kendall Marshall dished out 11 assists for his 13th career game with 10 or more assists and his seventh this season.

Boston College started five freshmen for the second consecutive game, but junior Matt Humphrey scored 14 points off the bench to lead the team. Freshman Ryan Anderson was the only other player in double figures with 13.
