Cashmere Wright’s reverse layup with 8.8 seconds left helped Cincinnati complete a late rally as the Bearcats stunned Oklahoma 56-55 Thursday at U.S. Bank Arena.

The win was the 17th straight for the Bearcats (10-3) at U.S. Bank Arena, where they haven’t lost since 1997.

Cincinnati’s chances looked somewhere between desperate and hopeless with 6:32 left, when it trailed 49-37. But the Bearcats went on a 14-2 run over the next five minutes to pull even at 51 with 1:22 left.

Oklahoma (9-2), which saw its season-best win streak end at five, regained the lead at 55-54 with 21 seconds left on Romero Osby’s layup. However, the Bearcats – behind Wright, who finished with eight points on 3-of-14 shooting – responded on the other end.

Steven Pledger’s 3-pointer caromed off the rim in the closing seconds.

Dion Dixon had a team-high 18 points and Sean Kilpatrick added 17 for Cincinnati, which trailed 24-19 at the half and was in danger of being held to less than 50 points for the first time all season. Jaquon Parker added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Andrew Fitzgerald had 10 of his team-high 18 points in the first half for the Sooners, who were held to a season-low in points. Their previous low came in an 83-63 loss to St. Louis on Nov. 27.

Osby finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds and Pledger, who came in averaging 19 points, added 11.
