Monty Brown scored 13 points and visiting Mercer rode a 16-5 run down the stretch to top Georgia Tech 65-59.

Bud Thomas, who tied the game with a 3-pointer with 3:21 to play, finished with 12 points for the Bears (8-5), who snapped a two-game losing streak with the win.

Glen Rice Jr. scored 19 points and added 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for Georgia Tech (7-5), which had its three-game winning streak stopped, marking the end of an otherwise perfect run at the Arena at Gwinnett this season. The Yellow Jackets will play the rest of their home schedule at Philips Arena.

Mercer had 17 points off of 16 Georgia Tech turnovers and shot 41.5 percent from the field.

Jason Morris added 10 points for the Yellow Jackets, who will visit Fordham and host Alabama before opening ACC play at home against Duke on Jan. 7.

The Bears virtually matched their Atlantic Sun-best average of 65.9 points and will now visit Tulsa and Navy to close out December before opening conference play at home against Florida Gulf Coast on Jan. 2.
