Freshman LaDarius White, making his Ole Miss debut, came off the bench to make four 3-pointers and score 16 points to lead the Rebels to an 80-56 win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.

The 6-foot-6 forward was ineligible until meeting academic requirements for the fall semester. He made quite a splash in his first game, connecting on 6 of 12 from the field with six rebounds and four assists and 26 minutes.

The Rebels (8-1) outrebounded their in-state rival 48-30 and scored 34 points in the paint. Forwards Reginald Buckner (11 points, 10 rebounds), Murphy Holloway (10 points, four rebounds) and Terrance Henry (10 points) combined to make 12 of 18 from the floor.

Mississippi Valley (1-8) was led by Paul Crosby, who made four 3-pointers and scored 16. Falando Jones added 13 points.

Ole Miss improved its record to 4-0 against Mississippi Valley.
