Gorgui Dieng scored 18 points on 8-of-8 shooting and added 12 rebounds as No. 4 Louisville coasted past visiting Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis 90-60 on Wednesday.

Chris Smith scored a team-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists and Russ Smith added 12 points off the bench for the Cardinals (8-0), who shot 55.6 percent (35-of-63) from the floor.

Louisville let the Jaguars (2-8) hang around in the first half, going into the break with a 40-35 edge. But after allowing IUPUI to shoot 52.1 percent (12-for-23) in the first half, the Cardinals limited the overmatched Summit League foe to 26.3 percent (10-of-38) in the second.

Louisville used a 15-0 run midway through the period to go up 65-45 and stretched it out to a 22-2 burst before letting up.

The Cardinals face Fairleigh Dickinson over the weekend in a final tuneup before their biggest test of the non-conference slate - a date with No. 20 Memphis on Dec. 17.

Stephen Thomas scored 14 points off the bench for the Jaguars.
