Darius Morris had 15 points and seven assists and sparked a closing run as Michigan rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit for a 60-55 victory over Illinois in a Big Ten quarterfinal game Friday.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 16 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer and two free throws down the stretch, as fourth-seeded Michigan won for the ninth time in 12 games and probably stamped its ticket to the NCAA tournament.

Michigan (20-12) will play top-ranked and No. 1 seed Ohio State in the semifinals Saturday at 1:40 p.m. ET

Demetri McCamey, Mike Tisdale and Brandon Paul had 10 points apiece for the fifth-seeded Illini, who are still probably on the right side of the tournament bubble.

Illinois (19-13) controlled the first 32 minutes, leading 51-39 before the Wolverines rallied. Evan Smotrycz drained two 3-pointers and Morris scored three buckets, the third on a pull-up jumper from the left elbow that tied the game with 3:30 to play.

Hardaway then canned a transition 3-pointer off a feed from Morris with 1:43 left for a 56-53 lead, one Michigan would not relinquish.
