C.J. Leslie had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead host North Carolina State to a 69-61 victory over Clemson on Thursday.
The Wolfpack (14-11, 4-7 ACC) trailed by one with 8:14 to go before they outscored the Tigers 9-0 over the next 4:09 to take a 61-53 lead.
Demontez Stitt scored 16 points, and Milton Jennings had 10 points and nine
rebounds for Clemson (17-9, 6-6), which committed only five turnovers
but shot 3 of 20 from 3-point range.
Clemson got as close as five with 45 seconds left on a Stitt basket, but North Carolina State kept making its free throws and was 9 for 11 in the final 1:47.
Tracy Smith finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Wolfpack, while Richard Howell added nine points and 10 boards. Leslie and Howell combined for 11 of North Carolina State's 17 offensive rebounds.
