Rotnei Clarke scored 36 points and Arkansas used a 16-4 second-half run to upend No. 22 Vanderbilt 89-78 on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

Clarke finished 12 of 16 from the field, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, to help the Razorbacks (14-6, 4-3 SEC) move within one game of first-place Alabama in the SEC West and end Vanderbilt’s three-game winning streak.

John Jenkins’ back-to-back 3-pointers brought the Commodores (15-5, 3-3) within 49-45 three minutes into the second half. Arkansas responded by scoring 16 of the next 20 points to take control. Clarke hit two 3-pointers during the run, and Glenn Bryant’s three-point play made it 65-49 Razorbacks with 12:08 left.

Vanderbilt got within 67-59 on Jeffery Taylor’s 3-pointer with 7:55 left, but Clarke scored the next eight Arkansas points to push the Razorbacks’ advantage to 75-61 with 6:07 remaining.

Arkansas shot 57.4 percent from the field. Michael Sanchez came off the bench to add 20 points.

Ahead 24-22 with eight minutes to go before halftime, the Razorbacks used a 15-8 run to build a 39-30 lead on Clarke’s jumper with 3:38 left. Julysses Nobles’ basket with six seconds left sent Arkansas into halftime leading 43-36.

Jenkins scored 24 points to pace Vanderbilt, which lost at home for the first time this season. Festus Ezeli added 18 points.

Arkansas plays host to Georgia on Wednesday. Vanderbilt travels to No. 23 Florida on Tuesday.
