Jamie Vanderbeken scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers and Iowa State hit a season-best 14 treys as the Cyclones beat Baylor 72-57 in a Big 12 Conference game in Ames, Iowa on Saturday night.

Vanderbeken, a 6-11 center, set a career high with his seven treys, as he only missed once from beyond the arc. Iowa State (14-4, 1-2 Big 12), which shot 50 percent from the field (26 of 52), connected on a season-high 56 percent from 3-point range, going 14 of 25.

Scott Christopherson added 17 points, including 5-of-8 from long range, while Diante Garrett posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists - tying his career best assist total.

Baylor (12-4, 2-1 Big 12), which had a four-game winning streak snapped, trailed 39-32 at halftime and closed within 55-51 with 10:35 remaining. Iowa State went on a 14-2 run over the next six minutes to put the game away as the lead grew to 69-53.

The Bears remain the only Big 12 team never to win at Hilton Coliseum, losing for the ninth straight time. LaceDarius Dunn, the leading scorer in the Big 12, led Baylor with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Dunn has now made at least one trey in a school-record 30 straight games. A.J. Walton added 12 points and six assists for Baylor.
