Kendall Williams had 18 points and 11 assists as New Mexico cruised to an 89-76 victory over Colorado in the 10th annual Las Vegas Classic at Orleans Arena on Wednesday night.

New Mexico (10-1), which has won eight straight games, will meet Northern Iowa in the final Thursday, while Colorado (7-4) will play Indiana in the consolation.

Northern Iowa defeated Indiana 67-61 Wednesday.

Alec Burks scored a game-high 25 points - including 11 for 13 from the free throw line - for Colorado, which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Burks is averaging 20.3 points this season, first among Big 12 Conference players.

Dairese Gary scored 18 points for the Lobos, who shot 61.2 percent from the field, made 24 of 28 free throws and outrebounded the Buffaloes 31-19.

Drew Gordon had 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench, Phillip McDonald scored 14 and Alex Kirk had 10 rebounds and six points for New Mexico, which never trailed, and led by as many as 12 points in the first half.

The closest Colorado got in the second half was 49-43 on Levi Knutson’s basket with 13:55 before the Lobos stretched the lead to as high as 14.

Marcus Relphorde scored 13 points, while Cory Higgins and Knutson scored 10 apiece for the Buffaloes, who shot 46.6 percent from the field but were 5 for 22 from 3-point range.
