Andre Stringer hit a pair of free throws with 37 seconds left and LSU hung on for its fourth straight win, 59-55 over Central Michigan on Saturday.

LSU (6-2) trailed for most of the second half, but Stringer hit two free throws that tied it at 53 with 1:05 left. Malcolm White came up with a steal moments later, and Stringer, a freshman, hit two more free throws that put the Tigers on top for good.

Stringer (eight points) and Chris Bass each hit a pair of free throws in the finals seconds to seal it.

White (12 points) was the lone player in double figures for the Tigers, who fell behind early in the second half.

Jalin Thomas had 22 points for the Chippewas (3-6), who opened the second half on a 15-2 run. Thomas’ jumper less than seven minutes into the second half made it 37-25.

Central Michigan has lost four straight.
