No. 5 Kansas State took a break from its tough non-conference slate to stomp Alcorn State 89-55 Monday in Manhattan.

The Wildcats (8-1) cruised to their fourth straight win since their pre-Thanksgiving loss to No. 1 Duke. Jacob Pullen, who had been struggling with his shot, hit 9-of-15 field goals and led Kansas State with 24 points. Jamar Samuels came off the bench to add 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Frank Martin's Wildcats are the highest-ranked one-loss team in the polls, one spot ahead of Michigan State. Both teams' only loss came against the top-ranked Blue Devils.

Alcorn State (0-8) is one of nine remaining winless Division-I teams. The Braves, who shot 27 percent from the field, were led by Marquis Baker's 17 points.

Kansas State returns to action against Loyola-Illinois Saturday, before revving up the competition level with back-to-back games against No. 18 Florida and No. 23 UNLV.
