Erving Walker finished with 16 points and seven assists, and No. 10 Florida held off a second-half charge to earn a 61-55 win over Morehead State on Sunday afternoon.

The Gators (3-1) jumped out to a 32-12 lead and took a 17-point cushion into halftime after holding the Eagles to 8-for-28 shooting (28.6 percent) from the field, but Morehead State didn’t go away without a fight.

The Eagles (2-2) crawled back to make it a game, scoring nine consecutive points to get within six at 45-39 with 10:50 remaining, but they could get no closer. A pair of 3-pointers by Kenny Boynton extended the Florida lead to 58-47 with 3:49 to go, and the Gators were able to hold off another surge in the final minute that saw the deficit trimmed to five points.

Chandler Parsons added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Gators. Kenneth Faried finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds for Morehead State, while Ty Proffitt added 11 points.
