Led by Robert Lewandowski’s career-high 20 points, Texas Tech took control in the second half Friday and toppled visiting Stephen F. Austin 70-58.

Texas Tech (2-1) outscored SFA 44-24 in the paint (28-10 in the second half) and took command just after halftime thanks to Lewandowski’s perfect night from the field (9-of-9). He also went 2-of-2 from the free throw line.

Stephen F. Austin (2-1) led 35-34 at the half, shooting 15-of-31 (48 percent) from the field. The Lumberjacks were sloppy early with 10 turnovers in the first half, but outscored the Red Raiders 13-3 on second-chance points.

Senior forward Jordan Glynn led SFA with eight of his 12 points in the first half while Lewandowski had 12 for Texas Tech on 5-of-5 shooting.

After halftime, the Red Raiders immediately grabbed their first lead since early in the game, going on a 19-10 run. When guard John Roberson hit a 3-pointer with 12:37 remaining, Texas Tech took its biggest lead at 53-42.

Stephen F. Austin (2-1) shot 24-of-57 (42 percent) from the field. Eddie Williams scored 12 points and junior center Jereal Scott added 10 for the Lumberjacks, who shot 3-of-11 from 3-point range.

Roberson finished with 15 points while Mike Singletary added 10 for Texas Tech. The Red Raiders shot 52 percent (29-of-56) from the field but just 3-of-16 from beyond the 3-point line.
