In one of the bigger upsets of the young season, Kennesaw State routed Georgia Tech 80-63 Monday in Kennesaw, Ga.

The host Owls are located about 30 minutes north of Georgia Tech's downtown Atlanta home. So the upset will cause some buzz around the metro area and start the early grumbling about Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt's job.

Kennesaw jumped on its visitors from the ACC quickly, building a 15-point halftime lead. Spencer Dixon dropped a game-high 27 on the Yellow Jackets (1-1). LaDaris Green added 17 for the Owls, who improved to 2-0.

Iman Shumpert led Georgia Tech with 20 points, highlighted by a 13-for-14 performance from the foul line.
