Donte DiVincenzo hit a franchise-record 11 3-pointers on Monday night, when he scored a career-high 40 points to lead the host New York Knicks to a 124-99 rout of the Detroit Pistons.

DiVincenzo broke the mark set by J.R. Smith on April 6, 2014, and matched by Evan Fournier on Jan. 6, 2022. Fournier, who was traded by the Knicks to the Pistons on Feb. 8, played for Detroit on Monday night and spent much of the second half covering DiVincenzo, who actually tied the record twice before he hit the milestone shot.

DiVincenzo was originally credited for his 10th 3-pointer after he sank a shot from the corner with 5:04 left in the third quarter, but upon review, the basket was negated because DiVincenzo's foot was on the baseline. DiVincenzo then missed his next four shots from beyond the arc before officially draining his 10th 3-pointer with 5:11 left in the game to put the Knicks up 112-81.

The sixth-year guard remained in the game and missed two 3-pointers before he hit the record-breaking shot out of a timeout with 3:16 left. DiVincenzo exited to a standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden crowd 11 seconds later.

Josh Hart (11 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists) posted his sixth triple-double of the season while Jalen Brunson had 28 points for the Knicks (43-28), who won for the sixth time in seven games to remain in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Miles McBride and Bojan Bogdanovic each added 13 points while Precious Achiuwa had 16 rebounds off the bench.

James Wiseman (14 points, 11 rebounds) posted a double-double for the Pistons (12-60), who have lost seven in a row and have the worst record in the NBA. Marcus Sasser had a team-high 24 points while reserves Fournier (15 points) and Malachi Flynn (14) each scored double figures.

The Knicks never trailed on Monday and took control with a 20-0 first-quarter run in which five players scored over a span of 4:27. New York never led by fewer than 16 points over the final three quarters and led by as many as 31 points in the second half.
