TORONTO -- This was a no-doubter, no-napping allowed win by the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors, who waited until the fourth quarter to turn it on in a win over the undermanned Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, stepped on the gas from the beginning of the game and never let the Los Angeles Lakers have a lead on Friday night in drawing away to a 113-80 victory.

It was a season-best fifth straight win for the Raptors (13-6), who had 24 points and seven assists from point guard Kyle Lowry, who was 6 of 9 from 3-point range.

"He's been shooting the ball extremely well. He works on it. He puts in the time," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. "Earlier in the year, everybody was panicking when he wasn't making his shots, but he's a shooter and it's always going to come back."

Lakers coach Luke Walton said, "I felt like we weren't mentally ready to compete against one of the better teams in the NBA tonight."

The Lakers were playing their third game in four nights and play again Saturday to complete a four-game road trip.

"I don't know if that was just the fatigue from the travel of the road trip so far, even if that is the case it can't be an excuse in this league because that's the way the schedule is," Walton said.

The Raptors also 16 points each from DeMar DeRozan and Norman Powell with DeRozan adding six assists and Powell, making a rare start, also grabbing seven rebounds.

"I really like Norman Powell," Lowry said. "I had a chance to play with him before his senior year at college and I always thought he was a good, hard-playing kid. The things he's doing this season, he's not playing every night, but when he gets chance to play without D.C. (DeMarre Carroll playing), he performs. It just makes me happy that he's being so successful right now."

Cory Joseph contributed 14 points off the bench for the Raptors and reserve center Lucas Nogueira had 13.

"I thought Cory came in again and set the tone defensively," Casey said. "He was guarding Lou (Williams) quite a bit of the time. I thought he set the tone by getting into him, making it physical."

Brandon Ingram had 17 points to lead the Lakers, who were without two starters. Jordan Clarkson added 14 and Lou Williams 13 points.

"It is a little bit of everything; they played great," said former Raptors point guard Jose Calderon, who scored five points for the Lakers. "They are one of the best defensive teams in the league as well and today we couldn't make any (shots).

"It started at the beginning. We missed a few wide-open shots, even under the basket. Then they got a lead and a little bit of confidence and it was tough after that."

Toronto led by six points after the first quarter, by 21 after the first half and by 22 after the third quarter.

The Lakers scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 17 before the Raptors went up by 28 with 7:30 to play on Lowry's field goal and the ensuing free throw.

After opening a 15-4 lead, the Raptors held a 28-22 advantage after the first quarter with Lowry scoring nine points.

Joseph's layup with 8:53 to play in the second quarter gave the Raptors a 40-28 lead.

Powell's layup had the Raptors up by 14. Lowry made his fifth 3-pointer in six attempts during the first half to bump the lead to 16 and Joseph's jumper just before the buzzer gave Toronto a 69-48 advantage at the intermission.

After the Lakers trimmed the lead to 18 early in the third quarter, Powell scored on a running dunk off the fast break with 5:53 to play in the third quarter and the Raptors led by 20.

DeRozan's 19-foot, step-back jump shot beat the buzzer and the third quarter ended with Toronto leading 84-62.
