Wizards 92, Grizzlies 83: John Wall had 18 points and 14 assists as visiting Washington won its third straight game.

Bradley Beal led all scorers with 20 points and Drew Gooden tallied 16 for the Wizards, who clinched at least the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and pulled within one game of fourth-place Toronto. Rasual Butler added 10 points off the bench as Washington snapped a nine-game losing streak in Memphis.

Marc Gasol finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Grizzlies, who fell a half-game behind Houston in the race for the second seed in the West. Mike Conley had 14 points and eight assists but missed all five of his 3-point tries, part of a 1-for-15 showing from beyond the arc for Memphis.

After producing a career-high 18 assists in a win over New York on Friday, Wall handed out six to go along with seven points in the first quarter as Washington opened a 29-18 lead, and it remained an 11-point advantage at halftime after Gooden's 3-pointer in the final minute. The Grizzlies pulled within seven just past the midway point of the third before Otto Porter Jr.'s 3-pointer pushed the margin back to double digits and Washington held a 71-59 advantage entering the fourth.

JaMychal Green capped a 6-0 burst early in the fourth to cut Memphis' deficit to 74-67 but Butler drained another triple and Beal threw down a dunk to help the Wizards build another 12-point lead. Gooden was good from long range and Beal had another dunk down the stretch to help fend off a late push by the hosts.
