Wizards 88, Jazz 84:
John Wall had 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists as visiting Washington held on to extend its winning streak to five.

Paul Pierce added 18 points for the Wizards, who moved within a half game of the Chicago Bulls for fourth in the Eastern Conference. Bradley Beal and Drew Gooden finished with nine points apiece as Washington won its fifth straight against the Jazz.

Gordon Hayward scored 26 points but missed a potential go-ahead 3-pointer in the final seconds for Utah, which had its NBA-leading six-game winning streak snapped. Derrick Favors added 16 points and nine rebounds, Trey Burke scored 14 off the bench and Rudy Gobert contributed nine points and 14 rebounds for the Jazz.

The Wizards led by nine late in the third quarter before taking a six-point lead into the fourth and it took the Jazz another seven minutes to trim three more points off the deficit. They managed to get within two on a pair of free throws by Hayward with 15 seconds on the clock and he had a chance to give Utah the lead but his 3 was off target and Wall sealed the win with two free throws on the other end.

The Wizards shot 58.1 percent in the first half, but that success was offset by 13 of their 22 turnovers and their lead was two at the break. Utah began to find its groove after halftime and a 6-0 run put the Jazz on top 50-45, forcing a timeout by Washington, and the Wizards responded with a 8-0 run of their own to move back ahead for good with 5:50 left in the third quarter.
