Thunder 122, Celtics 118: Russell Westbrook had 36 points, 10 assists and five steals as host Oklahoma City rode a 40-point third quarter to a win over Boston.

Enes Kanter finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth straight double-double as the Thunder moved a half-game up on New Orleans in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Anthony Morrow scored 20 points off the bench and Steven Adams had 14 to go along with 13 rebounds for Oklahoma City, which has won five in a row in the series.

Marcus Smart scored a career-high 25 points while making a Celtics rookie-record seven 3-pointers. Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk scored 20 points apiece for Boston, which sits tied with Indiana for eighth place in the East.

Oklahoma City led 30-24 early in the second quarter before Smart hit the first of his four 3-pointers in the period, the last of which gave Boston a 55-48 advantage moments before halftime. Smart hit another triple and Bass followed with two free throws to make it 68-62 midway through the third, but Westbrook had eight points in a 13-0 burst that helped the Thunder claim a 93-81 lead entering the fourth.

Smart's sixth 3 pulled Boston within 108-100 with three minutes to go and Olynyk had one moments later to make it a five-point game. Westbrook's jumper made it 112-103 with just over a minute left and he added six free throws to help offset three 3-pointers in the final 25 seconds for the Celtics.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Celtics G Isaiah Thomas (back) missed his fifth straight game. ... The Thunder's 40 points in the third quarter represents a team season-high for that period and is one shy of their top total for any quarter. ... Smart, who played in college at nearby Oklahoma State, also recorded the most 3s by a Celtics' player this season.
