Nuggets 114, Warriors 103: Kenneth Faried collected 24 points and 17 points and Denver ended the game with a 25-7 run to knock off visiting Golden State.

Danilo Gallinari added 24 points and Randy Foye had 20 points and eight assists for the Nuggets, who improved to 5-2 under interim coach Melvin Hunt. Jameer Nelson recorded 17 points and seven assists while Wilson Chandler scored 10 for Denver.

Justin Holiday scored a career-high 23 points and James Michael McAdoo added a season-best 16 off the bench for the Warriors, who rested Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala. Leandro Barbosa had 14 points and David Lee scored 13 as Golden State’s five-game winning streak came to an end.

Holiday’s 3-pointer put the Warriors in front 99-94 with 5:18 left but Foye scored five straight points to knot it at 99 and Nelson’s jumper put the Nuggets back in front with 3:41 to play. Foye sandwiched a 3-pointer in between two baskets from Chandler and Gallinari’s open dunk with 1:04 remaining put the exclamation point on the game for Denver.

The Warriors struggled to find a rhythm on the defensive end without their regulars early as the Nuggets shot out to a 13-3 lead and held an eight-point advantage at the half. Denver led by as much as 12 early in the third and was up 76-66 before Barbosa drained three 3-pointers in a 17-6 spurt closing the period that sent Golden State into the fourth up one.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Warriors committed a season-low eight turnovers with Shaun Livingston (12 points, eight assists) and Barbosa handling most of the point guard duties. … Golden State C Festus Ezeli posted a season-high four blocked shots. … Denver G Ty Lawson (illness) sat out and is day-to-day.
