Trail Blazers 94, Mavericks 75: LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Nicolas Batum contributed 15 points, a season-high 12 rebounds and six assists as host Portland knocked off Dallas.

Damian Lillard scored 14 points and Robin Lopez added 13 as the Trail Blazers won their fifth straight game. Portland guard Wesley Matthews suffered a season-ending Achilles' tendon injury when he injured his left foot two minutes into the third quarter.

Monta Ellis and Amar’e Stoudemire scored 12 points apiece for the Mavericks, who set a season low for points while losing for the third time in four games. Tyson Chandler grabbed 14 rebounds after missing the previous three games with a hip ailment as Dallas fell into sixth place in the Western Conference.

The Trail Blazers began to pull away in third quarter and kept the pressure on early in the fourth before Dallas pulled within 85-75 on Rajon Rondo’s basket with 4:09 remaining. Batum drained a 3-pointer 22 seconds later to start a game-ending 9-0 run as Portland moved within two games of second-place Memphis in the Western Conference.

The Mavericks led by seven after a jumper by Ellis with 3:38 left in the first half before the Trail Blazers closed on a 12-1 burst to take a 40-36 lead into the break. Alonzo Gee’s dunk gave Portland a 60-49 edge with 4:06 left in the third quarter and the Trail Blazers led by as many as 16 before settling for a 71-57 lead entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Mavericks have failed to reach 100 points in eight of their past 10 games. … Portland made 19-of-21 free throws and possessed a 56-41 rebounding edge while controlling the final 27 1/2 minutes. … Dallas SF Chandler Parsons (ankle) sat out for the sixth consecutive contest.
