After a miss by Brown, Harden had a go-ahead free throw and then a pull-up jumper to make it 98-95, and Jason Terry and Jones hit two free throws apiece in the closing seconds to seal it.

Plumlee had 11 points in the first quarter and the Nets led by as many as 13, but Houston opened the second with six straight points and took its first lead at 51-50 on Beverley's three-point play late in half. Brooklyn answered with a 12-2 run spanning halftime before the Rockets bounced back again, scoring 17 of the next 21 points en route to a 74-73 lead entering the fourth.
