Brook Lopez had 22 points and 14 rebounds off the bench to lead visiting Brooklyn over Los Angeles

Joe Johnson added a team-high 23 points and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 18 for the Nets, who moved within a half game of the Charlotte Hornets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Alan Anderson more than doubled his season scoring average with 14 points and Deron Williams added 12 points and a season-high 15 assists for Brooklyn, which shot 10-for-21 from 3-point range.

Jeremy Lin scored 18 points off the bench, Ed Davis had 16 points and 14 rebounds and fellow reserve Jordan Hill finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers. Robert Sacre scored 13 points and Ryan Kelly and Jordan Clarkson scored 12 apiece to pace the starters.

The Lakers led by one at the break, but Nets center Mason Plumlee scored 12 seconds into the second half and Brooklyn never trailed again. Anderson made back-to-back 3-pointers to move the Nets ahead by five and Johnson added another from beyond the arc for a 67-59 lead with 9:38 left in the third quarter.

The Nets made eight of their first nine field goals overall to start the second half, expanding their lead to 76-67 with seven minutes remaining. The Lakers trimmed the deficit back to six before Brooklyn closed the quarter on a 17-4 run to take a 96-77 lead into the fourth and held on, even after the Lakers used a 19-4 run to cut the deficit to seven with 2:29 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brooklyn came in shooting an NBA-best 49.5 percent from the floor in the first quarter this season and shot 58.3 in the opening 12 minutes against the Lakers. … Los Angeles fell to 9-13 this season when leading at the half. … The Nets have won consecutive games against the Lakers for the first time since the 2005-06 season.
