76ers 103, Timberwolves 94: Michael Carter-Williams notched his fifth career triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as host Philadelphia recorded a rare second consecutive win.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 18 points for the 76ers, who will need to defeat a dominant Atlanta team on the road Saturday to record their first three-game winning streak this season. Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington added 14 points apiece as Philadelphia shot 50 percent from the floor and made 21-of-25 free throws.

Kevin Martin led Minnesota with 19 points in his second game since returning from a 35-game layoff due to a wrist injury. Nikola Pekovic added 18 points, Andrew Wiggins 15 and Gorgui Dieng 14 and 10 rebounds.

There were 13 lead changes and 11 ties in the first half, which the Sixers ended with baskets by K.J. McDaniels and Carter-Williams to seize a 61-59 lead. After the teams combined to shoot 60 percent in the first half they went a collective 11-of-39 in the third as Philadelphia held a 78-77 lead.

Jerami Grant's 3-pointer highlighted a 7-0 run to begin the fourth for the 76ers and Noel's dunk with just under five minutes left put the hosts up 94-88. Wiggins answered with a floater but Minnesota would not score again for over three minutes and Mbah a Moute and Carter-Williams made four straight free throws in the closing seconds to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Timberwolves PG Mo Williams sat due to a hip issue after missing the previous game for a personal matter while fellow PG Zach LaVine played just over eight minutes of the second half after twisting an ankle. ... Noel also led his team with a career-high six blocks and four steals. ... McDaniels was 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 at the line in scoring 11 points off the bench.
