Augustin scored 18 points in the first half alone but the Raptors shot 56.1 percent - including 5-of-9 from 3-point range - to take a 58-53 halftime lead. DeRozan scored on the first possession of the third quarter to spark a 6-0 burst as Toronto went ahead by double digits for the first time, but Augustin stayed hot and later got the Pistons within 75-70 on a 3-pointer later in the period.

Detroit kept charging in the fourth, getting as close as 101-97 on Augustin's layup with three minutes to go and closing within three points on his two free throws with 52.6 seconds on the clock. The Raptors hit 7-of-8 from the line down the stretch to help offset a four-point play by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope that made it a two-point game in the closing seconds.
