Thompson matched Minnesota’s Mo Williams’ NBA-season high of 52 points while Stephen Curry handed out 11 assists and Marreese Speights added 19 points off the bench for Golden State.

DeMarcus Cousins collected 28 points and 11 rebounds while Darren Collison scored 15 for the Kings. Rudy Gay went scoreless in 13 minutes and was ejected in the second quarter after earning two technical fouls for Sacramento.

The Kings began the third quarter on a 7-0 run to turn a five-point halftime deficit into a 58-56 lead before Thompson got started. He poured in 19 Warriors points in a row before assisting on Draymond Green’s layup that made it 79-68 with 3:27 left.

Thompson followed with a personal 13-0 run and scored Golden State’s final 18 points of the quarter, bringing his total to 50 with a pair of free throws that pushed the lead to 97-73. Thompson added two free throws early in the fourth before finally missing from beyond the arc and coming out of the game to thunderous applause.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Thompson’s 37 points was the most in Warriors' history, six more than Wilt Chamberlain scored in the fourth quarter of his 100-point game for the Philadelphia Warriors, and also bested the 33 Carmelo Anthony put up in one quarter on Dec. 10, 2008. … Golden State also extended its NBA-record to 11 straight home wins by 13 or more points and is a franchise-best 35-6 at the midway point of the season. … The Kings have lost six straight games.
