Spurs 109, Nuggets 99:
Kawhi Leonard collected 17 points and a season-high 15 rebounds as visiting San Antonio held off Denver to earn its fourth straight win.

Tony Parker added 18 points and seven assists while Tim Duncan scored 16 points for the Spurs, who have won eight of 10. Aron Baynes hit all nine of his free-throw attempts en route to 15 points off the bench and Manu Ginobili had 11 points and eight assists for the San Antonio reserves.

Kenneth Faried recorded 26 points and 14 rebounds while Arron Afflalo scored 21 for the Nuggets, who have dropped four straight. Wilson Chandler scored 11 points and Jusuf Nurkic had 10 points and nine boards for Denver.

Leonard buried a pair of 3-pointers and Boris Diaw hit another during an 11-2 run to start the fourth quarter that left the Spurs in front 91-78. Duncan’s three-point play made it 98-84 with 5:11 remaining and Parker scored on two straight possessions three minutes later to stem a rally as San Antonio put it away.

The Spurs led by as much as six points in the second quarter but settled for a 51-48 lead at the break when Lawson beat the buzzer. The Nuggets grabbed the lead briefly in the third, but San Antonio used a 12-3 run to go up 73-65 before settling for a four-point edge heading into the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Denver G Jameer Nelson was held to eight points on 4-of-11 shooting, the first time in four games since joining the team that he failed to score in double figures. … Leonard is averaging 16.3 points in three games since returning from a 15-game absence. … Faried has recorded five double-doubles in 10 games this month.
