Knicks 99, Pelicans 92:
Carmelo Anthony collected 24 points and nine rebounds as New York held off visiting New Orleans to snap its franchise-record 16-game losing streak.

Rookie Langston Galloway scored 21 points and Amar'e Stoudemire added 14 off the bench for the Knicks, who won for the first time since Dec. 12 and earned their first home victory since Nov. 22. Jason Smith chipped in 12 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 11 in a reserve role.

Tyreke Evans tallied 23 points and nine rebounds and Eric Gordon scored 20 points for the Pelicans, who remained without star forward Anthony Davis (toe) and point guard Jrue Holiday (ankle). Omer Asik racked up 11 points and matched a season best with 17 rebounds and Ryan Anderson also scored 11 for New Orleans, which has lost seven of its last nine road games.

New York led 82-70 after Smith scored with 9:56 left before Alexis Ajinca converted a three-point play to start an 8-2 spurt as New Orleans began chipping away. Evans scored six straight points to cut it to 93-92 with 1:55 remaining, but Jose Calderon knocked down a 3-pointer coming out of a timeout and Anthony sealed it at the line.

The Knicks used a 9-0 burst midway through the first quarter to open up a double-digit lead and pushed the margin to 15 on back-to-back Galloway 3-pointers before Evans hit a triple just before the buzzer to pull New Orleans within 53-41 at halftime. The Pelicans cut the deficit to six on Asik's dunk with 7:07 left in the third, but New York finished the period strong to restore a 78-65 lead entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Orleans has not won consecutive games since Dec. 16 and 18. … Anthony (20,724) passed George Gervin for 36th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. … The Knicks committed a season-low four turnovers.
