Bulls 119, Celtics 103: Derrick Rose scored 29 points and knocked down five 3-pointers as visiting Chicago pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Jimmy Butler added 22 points and a career-high six steals and Pau Gasol added 20 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the Bulls, who played without center Joakim Noah but still prevented a fifth loss in six games. Chicago got 15 points from reserve Aaron Brooks and shot 53.9 percent for the game.
Jared Sullinger scored 20 points and Brandon Bass added 16 for the Celtics, who have lost 11 of 14. Kelly Olynyk added 14 points and nine rebounds and Tyler Zeller 12 points and six rebounds.
E'Twaun Moore and Brooks drained two 3-pointers each and Rose added another as the Bulls opened the fourth quarter on a 23-8 run for a 111-94 lead. Chicago shot 12-of-18 in the fourth quarter, including 7-of-9 from the arc, and Rose scored 11 as the Bulls closed out their third win in four games against the Celtics this season.
Boston shot 60 percent in the first half as Bass scored 10 off the bench, fellow reserve Phil Pressey contributed eight and Zeller eight points and five rebounds to offset nine points apiece by Taj Gibson, Rose and Brooks. Gasol scored 14, Butler 10 and Rose nine to offset 11 by Sullinger as Chicago took an 88-86 lead after three.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Rose left with 7 1/2 minutes to play in the first quarter with an apparent eye injury but returned. Rose, who made six 3-pointers against Washington on Wednesday, was 5-of-8 from the arc in this one and shot 12-of-20 overall. … Celtics rookie G Marcus Smart had five points on 1-of-4 shooting. ... Boston had a 45-36 rebounding advantage.
