Cavaliers 109, Lakers 102:
LeBron James had 36 points, five rebounds and five assists as visiting Cleveland defeated Los Angeles to halt a six-game losing streak.

Kyrie Irving added 22 points and Kevin Love contributed 17 points and seven rebounds as the Cavaliers won for the second time in 10 games to get back to .500. J.R. Smith tallied 14 points, Tristan Thompson grabbed 11 rebounds and Timofey Mozgov collected 10 boards for Cleveland.

Kobe Bryant added 19 points and a career-high 17 assists for the Lakers. Jordan Hill scored 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Nick Young had 14 points but again struggled with his shooting by going 4-of-13 from the field.

The Cavaliers led by four points at the start of the fourth quarter and a 3-pointer by James stretched the lead to 94-84 with 7:37 remaining. Los Angeles pulled within 103-99 with 43.5 seconds after five straight points by Bryant before James scored on a driving layup with 20.9 seconds to make it a six-point margin and Cleveland protected its lead.

Bryant had 12 points and 10 assists in the first half and the Lakers shot 58.1 percent from the field en route to a 61-57 halftime lead. James scored 12 points in third quarter, including two late 3-pointers, as the Cavaliers held Los Angeles to a season-low 14 points while taking a 79-75 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
James was playing his second game after missing eight due to back and knee injuries. … Young is 21-of-88 shooting over the last seven games. … Cleveland was 9-of-31 from 3-point range, including four from James and three from Smith.
