Pelicans 106, Grizzlies 95: Jrue Holiday had 23 points and eight assists as New Orleans led wire-to-wire against visiting Memphis to end a two-game losing streak.

The Pelicans had four players score at least 20 as Tyreke Evans added 21 points off the bench. Anthony Davis scored 14 of his 20 points after halftime and Ryan Anderson also scored 20 in a reserve role for New Orleans, which shot 10-for-20 from 3-point range.

Mike Conley and Marc Gasol scored 19 points apiece to lead Memphis, which has lost three of four. Zach Randolph returned after missing the last nine games with a sore knee and posted 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

The Pelicans opened the game with a 9-0 run and stretched the lead to 31-19 after the opening quarter. A 13-2 run by the Grizzlies to start second quarter pulled them within one but that was as close as they'd get as Anderson drilled a 3-pointer and Evans made back-to-back layups to extend the lead back to eight.

The lead was 13 at the half and Memphis made another run to get within seven on a three-point play by Conley with 6:35 left in the third, but New Orleans was again jump-started by a 3-pointer from Anderson and the Pelicans maintained an 11-point edge heading into the fourth. The Grizzlies couldn’t come up with another push as they only got within eight with 1:32 before Evans secured the win with a three-point play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Grizzlies and Pelicans were reportedly involved in a three-team trade with the Boston Celtics during the game that would send Memphis G Quincy Pondexter to the Pelicans and F Tayshaun Prince to the Celtics. Pondexter did not play in the game but Prince had six points and three rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench for Memphis. … Dante Cunningham made first start with the Pelicans, in place of Evans, and went scoreless with seven rebounds in 32 minutes. … The Pelicans improved to 5-0 at home on Fridays this season with wins against the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers.
