Wizards 92, Pelicans 85: John Wall collected 15 points, 12 assists and four steals to help visiting Washington end its season-high three-game losing streak.

Paul Pierce scored 14 points and fellow veteran Andre Miller added 12 off the bench on 5-of-5 shooting for the Wizards, who have won seven straight against New Orleans. Marcin Gortat and Kris Humphries each contributed 10 points as Washington improved to 18-1 when holding opponents under 100 points.

Anthony Davis racked up 21 points and 10 rebounds and Tyreke Evans tallied 21 points and seven boards for the Pelicans while Ryan Anderson contributed 14 points off the bench and Jrue Holiday added 13 points and four steals. Eric Gordon returned after missing 21 games with a shoulder injury and finished with six points and five assists for New Orleans.

The Pelicans trimmed their 11-point deficit to 69-67 on Anderson's 3-pointer 35 seconds into the fourth quarter, but Miller scored eight points and assisted on another basket during a 10-3 spurt to stretch it back out. Anderson drained a 3-pointer and Evans fed Davis for a dunk on a breakaway to cut it to 89-85 with 30 seconds left, but Rasual Butler hit three of four foul shots down the stretch to ice it.

The Wizards shot 56.4 percent in the first half and limited Davis to four points while building a 52-44 halftime lead. Pierce drained a 3-pointer to push the margin to 65-54 with 4:35 left in the third quarter, but Davis and Evans — who combined to score all 20 New Orleans points in the quarter — alternated baskets during an 8-2 spurt to close the period as the Pelicans pulled within 69-64 entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wall and Davis are tied for the league lead with 20 double-doubles. … Holiday reached the 5,000-point mark for his career. … Evans, who was battling illness, came off the bench for the first time this season after 32 starts.
