Bulls 109, Celtics 104 (OT): Pau Gasol tied a season high with 29 points and added 16 rebounds as undermanned Chicago held off visiting Boston in overtime.

Aaron Brooks scored 19 points off the bench for the Bulls, who won for the ninth time in 10 games despite playing without Jimmy Butler (bereavement leave) and Mike Dunleavy (ankle). Joakim Noah had eight points, 12 rebounds and six assists as Chicago improved to 2-1 on this seven-game homestead.

Evan Turner scored a season-high 29 points on 12-of-22 shooting and added six assists for the Celtics, who have lost six of eight. Jared Sullinger had 16 points and 16 rebounds and forced overtime with a putback as Boston was outscored 29-9 at the line.

After Gasol scored four points in the extra session, Derrick Rose used a nifty cross-over dribble drive that gave Chicago a 107-103 lead with 25 seconds left. Turner and Rose split two from the charity stripe before Turner's seventh turnover on an inbounds pass with eight seconds left sealed defeat for the Celtics.

Chicago scored the final seven points of the first half for a 46-40 lead, but Turner scored 13 points in the third as Boston drew even at 69-69 entering the fourth. Taj Gibson gave Chicago a 99-97 lead after splitting two free throws with 23 ticks left, but Sullinger followed a miss by Jeff Green with 2.6 seconds left before Brooks' wide-open 3-pointer from the left corner rimmed out at the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rose, who entered shooting 14-of-60 in his previous three games, was 5-of-18 in this one. ... Chicago overcame 32.7 percent shooting in the first half, including 2-of-15 from the arc, by owning a 12-2 edge at the line and a 33-22 advantage on the boards. … Brooks, who scored eight points in the fourth quarter, has scored 60 points on 21-of-42 shooting, including 8-of-19 from the arc, in three games off the bench against the Celtics this season.
