Nuggets 109, Clippers 106: Nate Robinson scored a season-high 20 points off the bench as Denver held off visiting Los Angeles.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Nuggets, led by Wilson Chandler with 16 points. Kenneth Faried added 14 points and seven rebounds and Timofey Mozgov contributed 13 points and eight boards for Denver.

Blake Griffin had 32 points and 12 rebounds and Chris Paul finished with 17 points and 15 assists for the Clippers. Jamal Crawford scored 20 off the bench and Matt Barnes added 16 points for Los Angeles.

The Clippers led by three to start the fourth quarter but Denver opened the final frame with a 9-0 run before Los Angeles came back to take a one-point lead on a basket by Barnes with 3:10 left. Denver scored eight unanswered points in 63 seconds to reestablish a lead, and the Clippers trimmed the deficit back down to three and had two chances to tie the score in the final seconds but Crawford and J.J. Redick missed from beyond the arc.

The Nuggets led by as many as 14 in the first quarter and 18 in the second but missed their first 10 field goal attempts of the second half while going scoreless for nearly six minutes and the Clippers reeled off 16 straight points to tie the score at 59. A steal and layup by Barnes gave the Clippers a 63-62 lead, their first since the opening three minutes of the game, and they stretched the advantage to as many as seven before taking a 74-71 lead into the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers were called for six technical fouls, including three with 8:18 left in the game. … Denver PG Ty Lawson had 11 of his 14 assists in the first half to give him double figures in that category for the 13th time in the last 14 games. … The Clippers, who came in second in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage (38.6), shot 3-for-18 from beyond the arc.
