Grizzlies 120, 76ers 115 (OT): Mike Conley contributed a career-high 36 points to go with nine assists and hit the tying 3-pointer to force the extra session as visiting Memphis rallied from an 18-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun Philadelphia.
Zach Randolph had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who won their fourth consecutive game. Courtney Lee scored 19 points and Marc Gasol added 18 points and nine rebounds.
Rookie Robert Covington had 24 points and nine rebounds and Hollis Thompson tied his season high with 21 points for the 76ers, who dropped to 0-12 at home. Michael Carter-Williams had 16 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds and Tony Wroten scored 17 points for Philadelphia.
Conley’s layup with 3:48 left in overtime put the Grizzlies ahead to stay and he hit a 3-pointer with 23.9 seconds left to make it 119-112. Thompson answered with a 3-pointer with 15.9 seconds left but Conley split two free throws to make it a five-point margin and Philadelphia couldn’t get closer.
The 76ers took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter and the lead grew to 18 on Wroten’s layup with 7:39 remaining before Lee scored eight points and Randolph had seven as Memphis used a 15-3 burst to pull within 98-92 with 4:41 to play. Beno Udrih and Conley drained back-to-back 3-pointers and Conley added a layup to move the Grizzlies within 107-106 with 15.3 seconds left, but Thompson hit two free throws with 4.6 seconds to play to make it a three-point margin before Conley connected on the tying 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds to go.
GAME NOTEBOOK: C Henry Sims (12 points on 5-of-5 shooting), G Alexey Shved (11) and F Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (10) also scored in double digits for Philadelphia. … Randolph recorded his 14th double-double and was 10-of-14 from the field. … Thompson was 7-of-8 from the field and made a season-best five 3-pointers as the 76ers went 11-of-28 from behind the arc.
