Spurs 122, Thunder 105: Tim Duncan scored 21 of his 27 points in the first half and Manu Ginobili had all 18 of his points in the second half as host San Antonio defeated Oklahoma City in the opening game of the Western Conference finals.

Tony Parker contributed 14 points and 12 assists to show his hamstring has healed and the Spurs shot 57.5 percent from the field while enjoying a resounding 66-32 edge in points in the paint. Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard scored 16 points apiece for San Antonio, which hosts Game 2 on Wednesday.

Kevin Durant had 28 points and nine rebounds and Russell Westbrook added 25 points and seven assists for the Thunder. Reserve Derek Fisher scored 16 points and fellow bench player Reggie Jackson added 13.

The Spurs scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to increase their lead to 13 points and Oklahoma City was within 10 after Caron Butler split two free throws with 5:56 remaining. But Leonard’s steal and layup and a 3-pointer by Ginobili made it a 16-point margin and Ginobili later drained a 3-pointer to make it 118-97 with 2:15 remaining, forcing Thunder coach Scott Brooks to clear the bench.

Duncan was 9-of-12 shooting in the first half and San Antonio shot 61.7 percent from the field to take a 67-59 halftime advantage. The Thunder took their first lead since the opening minutes at 76-75 with 5:09 left in the third quarter but the Spurs later rattled off 10 straight points and ended up taking an 89-82 edge into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio, which lost all four regular-season meetings against the Thunder, made 13-of-18 shots in the fourth quarter. … The Spurs committed just 10 turnovers and scored 21 points on 16 Thunder miscues. … Oklahoma City post players Steven Adams (four points, two rebounds) and Nick Collison (scoreless with three rebounds) were nonfactors while filling in for injured Serge Ibaka (calf).
