Thunder 116, Pelicans 94: Kevin Durant had 27 points and Russell Westbrook added 24 points and seven assists as host Oklahoma City routed New Orleans.

Serge Ibaka contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and a season-best eight blocked shots as the Thunder won their third straight game and moved three games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers in the battle for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. The victory was Oklahoma City’s 10th straight over the Pelicans.

Austin Rivers had 18 points and eight rebounds to pace New Orleans, which lost its seventh straight game. Darius Miller also scored 18 points and Tyreke Evans added 13.

Durant had 15 points in the third quarter as Oklahoma City turned a 13-point halftime lead into an 87-62 bulge entering the final stanza. A 3-pointer by Jeremy Lamb made it 106-72 midway through the fourth as the Thunder cruised to the finish.

New Orleans rolled off 11 straight points in the first quarter for a 15-12 lead before the Thunder began dominating the contest. Oklahoma City shot 55.8 percent from the field in the first half and led 60-47 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Westbrook has averaged 27 points over the past two games after missing two of three games to rest his surgically repaired knee. … The Thunder had a 28-0 edge in fast-break points and scored 24 points off 15 New Orleans turnovers. … Oklahoma City held a 47-35 rebounding advantage and a 56-38 edge in points in the paint.
