Pelicans 105, Heat 95: Anthony Davis piled up 30 points and 11 rebounds as New Orleans turned away visiting Miami.

Tyreke Evans added 16 points and eight assists and Al-Farouq Aminu had 12 points and eight boards for the Pelicans, who have won three of four. Luke Babbitt joined the starting lineup and scored 11 points while Anthony Morrow had 10 off the bench for New Orleans.

LeBron James flirted with a triple-double and finished with 25 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the Heat suffered their seventh loss in 11 games. Mario Chalmers added 19 points and seven assists while Michael Beasley scored 16 points off the bench for Miami.

The Pelicans took a 76-72 lead into the fourth quarter and extended it to a nine-point edge on Morrow’s 3-pointer with nine minutes left. Davis’ three-point play pushed the advantage to 14 points with 6:22 to play and the lead grew to as much as 16 points as New Orleans put it away.

Babbitt’s 3-pointer capped a 16-7 run that put the Pelicans on top 62-55 with 6:52 left in the third quarter. The lead reached eight points before Beasley and Ray Allen scored in the final 28 seconds to cut the deficit to four points.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Heat remained three games behind the Indiana Pacers for first place in the Eastern Conference. … Davis is the first player in franchise history to put together three straight games of at least 30 points and 10 rebounds and the first to score at least 28 points in eight straight. … Pelicans G Eric Gordon (knee) missed the game.
