Pacers 112, Pistons 104 (OT): Paul George had 30 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals as visiting Indiana recovered from a 25-point second-quarter deficit to slay Detroit.

David West scored six of his 15 points in the extra session as the Pacers won their third straight game and moved 3 1/2 games ahead of the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference race. Evan Turner added 20 points off the bench and fellow reserve Andrew Bynum contributed 15 points and nine rebounds in his second game with the club.

Josh Smith scored 23 points and Rodney Stuckey added 19 for the Pistons, who lost for the ninth time in 11 games. Greg Monroe had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Detroit, which lost center Andre Drummond to a neck injury midway through the opening quarter.

After Smith’s driving basket with 22.2 seconds left in regulation tied the score at 100 to send it to overtime, West drained three baskets to help the Pacers take a 108-102 lead with 1:21 left. George hit two free throws to stretch the lead to eight with 18.1 seconds to play and Indiana held off the Pistons, who were just 1-of-9 in the extra session.

Detroit had a 56-31 lead with under 3 1/2 minutes remaining in the first half before settling for a 60-41 halftime lead. Indiana pulled within 79-73 entering the fourth quarter and inched ahead by a point on Turner’s three-point play with 6:45 to go in regulation.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Drummond was injured when he was inadvertently hit in the head by Hibbert during a scramble for a loose ball and the Pistons said he will undergo further evaluation. … Indiana collected 18 offensive rebounds while producing a 62-44 edge on the boards. … Detroit PG Brandon Jennings had 10 points and 12 assists for his first double-double since Feb. 24.
