Trail Blazers 111, Pelicans 103: Damian Lillard scored a team-high 27 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and all five starters reached double figures as visiting Portland turned away New Orleans.

Nicolas Batum tallied 22 points, tied a career high with 18 rebounds and added five assists for the Trail Blazers, who won despite leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge missing the game with a back injury. Wesley Matthews scored 20 points, Robin Lopez added 19 and Dorell Wright had 15 for Portland, which salvaged the final effort of a five-game road trip.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with a career-high 36 points and a team-best nine rebounds as New Orleans fell for the second consecutive game. Brian Roberts pitched in with 19 points and five assists and Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon each returned from a one-game absence with the flu to contribute 16 points apiece.

The Pelicans used eight unanswered points to pull ahead 81-75 with 2:06 remaining in the third quarter before the Blazers answered by closing the period with a 5-0 spurt to enter the fourth down 81-80. After a layup from Evans put New Orleans up 94-89 with 7:30 to go, Lillard sparked Portland with 12 points as part of an 18-6 run to pull in front 107-100 and put the game away.

The Blazers escaped the first quarter with a 29-26 edge, led by 10 points from Batum, while Davis matched his effort with 10 points of his own for the Pelicans as each team shot 50 percent in the opening frame. By halftime, the Pelicans had squeaked in front, leading 55-53 as Davis (18 points), Gordon (11) and Roberts (10) paced the first-half offense.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Portland improved to 5-1 without Aldridge, who is expected to miss at least one more game before being re-evaluated. ... New Orleans G Anthony Morrow finished with three points on 1-of-8 shooting following a season-best three straight games with at least 10 points. ... Four Blazers reserves notched two points apiece on just 3-of-11 shooting as Portland also played without G Mo Williams (hip) for the second straight game.
