Raptors 101, Pistons 87: DeMar DeRozan poured in 25 points and Amir Johnson added 20 as Toronto breezed past visiting Detroit.

Kyle Lowry collected 19 points for the Raptors, who maintained a three-game lead over the Brooklyn Nets atop the Atlantic Division standings. Jonas Valanciunas contributed eight points and led all players with 13 rebounds in the win.

Brandon Jennings led the way with 24 points for the Pistons, who have dropped 11 of 14 to slip a half-game behind New York for ninth place in the East. Andre Drummond had 16 points while Greg Monroe added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Toronto needed just under seven minutes to build a double-digit lead on a pair of DeRozan free throws and the lead grew to as many as 14 before Kyle Singler's driving layup kickstarted a late 6-0 run that trimmed the deficit to 29-21. Detroit drew even on Will Bynum's 3-pointer with 8:37 remaining in the second quarter but DeRozan knocked down a turnaround bank shot and a layup as part of a three-point play to help send Toronto into the break ahead 52-45.

The Raptors broke things open early in the third, holding Detroit to one field goal over the opening 4:29 while stretching their advantage to 18 points. Jennings scored the final eight points of the period to cap a 17-5 rally and make it a five-point game, but DeRozan hit a fadeaway and converted the ensuing foul shot to restore Toronto's double-digit lead with 9:39 remaining and Detroit didn't threaten again.
