Kenneth Faried scored a career-best 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Ty Lawson had 30 points and matched a career best with 17 assists as host Denver rolled past defensive-troubled Los Angeles.

Wilson Chandler scored 19 points, while Evan Fournier and Timofey Mozgov added 13 apiece as the Nuggets shot 54.5 percent from the field while winning their second straight game. Denver was 14-of-24 from 3-point range as Lawson made five and Randy Foye drained four for 12 points.

Pau Gasol scored 27 points, Ryan Kelly had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Jordan Farmar scored 24 points for the Lakers, who have allowed an average of 136 points over the past three games. Jodie Meeks added 16 points for Los Angeles, which was coming off a franchise-worst 142-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.

Denver’s lead was 18 points midway through the final quarter before Los Angeles showed some life. But after moving to within 132-124 on two free throws by Kelly with 1:23 to play, the Lakers didn’t score again until Gasol’s dunk with three seconds left.

The Nuggets were 18-of-24 in the opening period en route to a 42-35 lead and then rolled off 35 more in the second for a 77-66 halftime advantage. Lawson (10) and Faried (nine) combined for 19 points in the third as Denver stretched the lead to 110-91 entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Denver’s season high of 137 points came against the Lakers on Jan. 5. … The loss clinches Los Angeles’ first losing season since going 34-48 in 2004-05. … The Nuggets won all three meetings to sweep the Lakers for the first time in franchise history.
