Clippers 142, Lakers 94: Darren Collison scored 24 points and Blake Griffin had 20 points and 11 rebounds as the host Clippers posted the largest margin of victory in franchise history and also handed the Lakers their worst loss.

Matt Barnes contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds and DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Clippers increased their winning streak to a season-best six games and routed their Los Angeles rivals for the second straight meeting. Chris Paul added 13 points, 11 assists and four steals in an easy victory that follows a convincing 123-87 win over the Lakers on Jan. 10.

Pau Gasol had 21 points and seven rebounds for the Lakers, who have dropped six of their last seven games against the Clippers. Xavier Henry added 15 points as the Lakers supplanted a 46-point defeat (129-83) against Portland on Jan. 9, 1995 for the franchise’s worst loss and also fell below the Utah Jazz and into last place in the Western Conference.

The game was competitive for one quarter as the Clippers led 29-27 before outscoring the Lakers 44-13 in the second quarter to take a 73-40 halftime advantage. The Clippers made 19-of-30 shots in the stanza and held the Lakers to 5-of-20.

The Clippers continued the assault in the third quarter and took a 109-60 lead into the final stanza en route to posting the most points scored in an NBA game this season. The lead reached 50 on Danny Granger’s basket in the final minute and topped out at 51 points before Kendall Marshall ended the scoring with a 3-pointer for the Lakers, who committed 22 turnovers and were outrebounded 64-33.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers set the previous franchise record for largest margin of victory (45) with a 123-78 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 9. … The Lakers allowed more than 130 points for the third time in nine games – they gave up 134 to Houston on Feb. 19 and 132 to New Orleans on Tuesday. … The Clippers’ 57 field goals are the most in an NBA game this season, topping the 54 Portland made against Charlotte on Jan. 2. Portland also had the previous high point total – 139 against Philadelphia on Dec. 14.
