Spurs 111, Heat 87: Tim Duncan collected 23 points and 11 rebounds as host San Antonio snapped a five-game regular-season losing streak against Miami in a rematch of last season's NBA Finals.
Tony Parker scored 17 points and Boris Diaw added 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Spurs, who have won five straight and eight of nine. Kawhi Leonard chipped in 11 points as San Antonio shot 50.6 percent and had 30 assists on 40 field goals.
Chris Bosh scored 24 points to pace the Heat, who have dropped two straight following an eight-game winning streak. LeBron James scored 19 points on 6-of-18 shooting and tallied eight rebounds and seven assists while Dwyane Wade added 16 points and seven assists.
The Spurs shot a blistering 62.9 percent in the first half, taking a 37-22 lead after one quarter and pushing the margin to 17 early in the second. Miami pulled within 59-51 on Michael Beasley's 3-pointer with nine seconds left, but Boris Diaw answered with a 3 at the buzzer for an 11-point halftime advantage.
San Antonio cooled off after the break, allowing the Heat to hang around, but Miami could never close the gap. James made a pair of free throws to cut it to 79-74 with 2:14 left in the third, but Miami went scoreless for the rest of the quarter, Patty Mills hit a 3-pointer to extend it to 82-74 entering the final stanza and the Heat never got that close again.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami has trailed from wire to wire in consecutive games for the first time since assembling the "Big Three" of James, Wade and Bosh. … James, who broke his nose two weeks ago at Oklahoma City, ditched his protective mask in the second quarter. … San Antonio improved to 14-0 when holding opponents under 90 points.
