Pelicans 132, Lakers 125: Anthony Davis had 28 points and 15 rebounds and Eric Gordon also scored 28 points as visiting New Orleans defeated Los Angeles to halt an eight-game losing streak.

Tyreke Evans contributed 24 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds and Brian Roberts scored 19 points for the Pelicans, who also snapped a six-game road skid. Austin Rivers added 12 points off the bench for New Orleans, which shot 59.7 percent from the field and made 33-of-40 free throws.

Pau Gasol had 29 points and 12 rebounds and Kent Bazemore matched his career high of 23 points for the Lakers, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Jordan Farmar had 20 points and eight assists and Jodie Meeks scored 17 points.

The Pelicans had a 117-107 lead after Gordon’s 3-pointer with 5:24 remaining before Los Angeles rallied to within 128-124 on a 3-pointer by Meeks with 1:46 to play. Gordon and Anthony Morrow each knocked down two free throws to help New Orleans hold off the Lakers.

Davis had 19 points and nine rebounds as New Orleans sped to a 67-51 halftime lead. The Pelicans led by as many as 21 points early in the third and the Lakers cut that margin to six late in the quarter before New Orleans took a 95-85 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Orleans also halted a nine-game road losing streak against the Lakers. … Los Angeles PG Kendall Marshall had 10 assists while going scoreless in 22 minutes. … Davis made 10-of-16 shots after going 5-of-20 over the previous two games.
