Jazz 109, Suns 86: Gordon Hayward and Richard Jefferson each tallied 17 points to lead seven players in double figures as Utah turned away visiting Phoenix.

Hayward also registered game-highs with 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Jazz, who won their second straight game following a three-game slide. Former Sun Diante Garrett added a career-high 15 points and Derrick Favors and Alec Burks notched 15 as well for Utah, which shot 56.8 percent.

Gerald Green had a team-high 17 points and rookie Archie Goodwin tied a career-high with 16 for Phoenix, which lost its third straight game. Ish Smith registered 13 points, a team-high eight rebounds and five assists for the Suns, who played without leading scorer Goran Dragic (ankle).

The Morris brothers went back-to-back with a 3-pointer from Marcus followed by a pair of free throws from Markieff to pull the Suns to within 60-55 at the midway point of the third quarter before Utah doubled them up in the second half of the frame to hit the fourth ahead 78-64. The Jazz were unrelenting in the final stanza, putting the game away early in the period as Garrett struck for 12 points in the first 4:15 to stretch the lead past 20 before Utah cruised the rest of the way.

The Jazz built a 28-25 lead after the first quarter, paced by eight points apiece from Favors and Jefferson, who combined for 7-of-8 from the field in the opening 12 minutes. The Jazz opened up a nine-point advantage when Jeremy Evans jammed home a rebound off a Burks 3-point miss with 6:34 left in the half and, after Phoenix pulled to within 42-41, a dunk from Hayward ignited an 11-3 surge to send Utah into the locker room with a 53-44 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hayward had shot 30.1 percent in his previous six games for the Jazz. ... The Suns trailed after the first quarter for the fourth straight game and have faced an average deficit of 6.8 points after the opening 12 minutes during that span. ... Garrett played in 19 games for Phoenix last season, averaging 2.1 points and 1.6 assists in 7.8 minutes.
