Warriors 102, Bulls 87: Stephen Curry led the way with 34 points and nine assists as shorthanded Golden State recovered from a slow start to knock off visiting Chicago.

Klay Thompson added 22 points for the Warriors, who were without starters Andrew Bogut (knee) and David Lee (shoulder). Harrison Barnes and Jordan Crawford scored 11 points apiece off the bench and Draymond Green chipped in nine points and seven rebounds while starting in Lee’s spot.

Taj Gibson matched his career high with 26 points and collected 13 rebounds while Kirk Hinrich scored 15 points for the Bulls. Jimmy Butler had 14 points and Joakim Noah collected 11 assists and 10 rebounds to go along with seven points for Chicago.

Tony Snell and Butler hit back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Bulls within 91-83 with 3:05 left and force the Warriors to call a timeout. The lead closed to six points before Crawford rattled in a 3-pointer from the left corner and Curry got into the paint for a runner to help put it away for Golden State.

The Warriors put on their worst shooting performance of the season in a 91-75 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday and looked like they had carried it over by going 8-for-22 in falling behind 29-16 after the first quarter. The Bulls held a 36-22 lead 3:05 into the second quarter before Golden State finally found its rhythm.

Curry scored 16 points during a 28-10 run over the rest of the second quarter and Thompson buried a 3-pointer to help put the Warriors on top 50-46 at the break. Chicago grabbed a 56-54 lead early in the third but Curry and Thompson hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Green took a feed from Curry and dunked over Noah to cap an 8-0 run that gave Golden State back the lead.

The Warriors took a 76-68 lead into the fourth before the Bulls threatened again, closing to within 81-77 on Butler’s three-point play with 8:07 to play. Barnes responded with a 3-pointer and Curry made Chicago pay for a turnover with a pull-up 3-pointer from the top of the key as Golden State stretched it back to a double-digit lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bogut is expected to be back for Saturday’s game at Phoenix but Lee, who is also dealing with a hip strain, will sit out that contest as well. … Bulls F Carlos Boozer was a late scratch from the starting lineup with a calf strain. … Curry was announced as a participant in the All-Star 3-point shootout next weekend and is part of the Shooting Stars challenge along with his father Dell Curry and WNBA star Becky Hammon.
